SKIN TAG, WART & VERRUCA REMOVAL

Cryopen™ is the ideal solution for the removal of skin lesions and imperfections

WHAT IS

CRYOPEN™?

CryoPen™ is an advanced cryotherapy innovation that is a fast, effective, safe and new solution for removal of skin imperfections. It emits a fine jet of Nitrous Oxide under high pressure, which allows the clinician to work with millimetre precision. This destroys the tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, forming ice shards and crystals which rupture the membrane, thereby destroying the cell. That means there will be no collateral damage to healthy tissue. It’s incredibly accurate and practical.

WHAT CAN CRYOPEN™ TREAT?

CryoPen™ treats benign skin lesions on the surface of the skin, many of which are no longer able to be treated by doctors under the NHS, due to their cosmetic nature. It can treat lesions on the face, scalp and body including:

-  Skin tags

-  Age/liver spots

-  Milia

-  Cherry angioma

-  Warts

-  Verrucas

-  Solar lentigo (sun spots)

-  Other pigmentation

It is essential that a correct diagnosis is made before treatment as we are only able to treat benign lesions. If a lesion looks suspicious, you will be advised to seek approval from your General Practitioner to proceed with the treatment.

PATIENT BENEFITS

-  No exposure to dangerous cryogenic gases or liquids

FREQUENTLY

ASKED

QUESTIONS

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?

CryoPen™ treatment is non-invasive and relatively low risk. During the healing process, the treated area may develop some pigment change, either darker (hyper-pigmentation) or lighter (hypo-pigmentation). This colour loss may take longer to return in darker pigmented skin. This will generally improve over a period of a few months but sometimes may persist indefinitely. If pigment change occurs, we recommend you book a review appointment with us so that we can advise you accordingly. Freezing can cause some irritation to some of the small nerves in the skin and lead to an area of numbness, tingling or hypersensitivity. These symptoms will generally improve over a period of weeks or months.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TREATMENT?

The results of CryoPen™ treatment are permanent, however it can take more than one application to remove the lesion. A follow up visit is recommended after 2-4 weeks to assess response to the initial treatment and whether further application is required.

WARTS AND VERRUCAS – PRE TREATMENT FOR BEST RESULTS

Soak for 5 minutes everyday for 1 week prior to your appointment. Exfoliate or gently file everyday after soaking.

A second treatment may be required if the wart / verruca is very large or has been present for a few years to make sure no viral cells remain.

HOW MUCH DOES THE TREATMENT COST?

It is very difficult to state a fixed price as it will depend on the size, depth, quantity and area of the lesion being treated. Procedures typically last from 5 to 25 seconds.

As a guideline, a 5 second treatment would be needed for each area / age spot (i.e 5 small areas for £50). Whereas a large wart would require a 25-30 second treatment.

Prices start at around £50 for a 25 second treatment, with discounted prices for multiple lesions / areas. Prices will be agreed at consultation before treatment.

Please Note: Clients may need more than one treatment. The number of treatments required can vary depending on the skin condition being treated and its response to the procedure.
